University of Michigan Postdoc Preview

The University of Michigan Medical School will host Postdoc Preview, May 12-13, 2022. This recruiting event is an opportunity for upper-level graduate students to explore the extensive postdoctoral research and training opportunities in biomedical sciences at University of Michigan. During a fully-funded, two-day visit, guests will interview with prospective mentors, network with current postdocs, learn about funding opportunities, and about life in Ann Arbor. Applicants are selected from a national pool of candidates who expect to complete their thesis research within the next year, and must be US citizens, permanent residents, or currently enrolled in a US graduate school. Applications will be accepted through March 25, 2022.

  • February 28 – March 7: East Coast Regional Terminal
    • Terminal Live is an online game where software engineers and computer scientists (or anyone else interested in coding!) build an algorithm to play a tower defense game in a team-based setting.
  • March 21 – 28: East Coast Regional Datathon
    • Datathons are data science competitions that challenge students from the world’s best universities to tackle real-world social challenges in topics such as urban traffic, renewable energy, and education.

Carisma Therapeutics – Several Positions

Carisma Therapeutics is a Penn spinout from the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies developing CAR monocyte and macrophage cell therapies for cancer. Carisma recently entered into an R&D partnership with Moderna to reprogram myeloid cells into CAR-M directly within patients using LNP/mRNA technology. Carisma has numerous openings that the BGS community may be interested in, including research associate, associate scientist, scientist, senior scientist, and principal scientist levels. There are links to several positions below. All positions are based in Philadelphia, in University City. Applicants can apply through the website.
