Upcoming NIH OITE Webinar

April 27, 2021 by Rebecca Lopez

Upcoming NIH OITE Events - BGS Career Development

The next NIH OITE webinar/small group discussion in their series focused on the mental health and wellness of biomedical trainees and research staff is open to trainees, PIs, and staff:

This month we will discuss the psychology of career decision making. This can be an overwhelming process and many of us engage in hasty decision making or get caught in a state of decision paralysis. In this workshop, we will explore factors that can influence our career decisions (hint: many of them do not have anything to do with careers!) and discuss decision-making models that focus on process and prioritization.  We will emphasize the importance of self-reflection and awareness of our personal interests, skills, values, and goals and will address the importance of flexibility. The webinar and small group discussions will be helpful for individuals making career decisions and others who provide support and encouragement to others engaged in the process. This is a one-hour webinar, followed by facilitated small group discussions. Because experts will facilitate the small groups, you must register in advance.

MONDAY MAY 3, 2021
1:00 – 3:15 PM EST
REGISTER HERE

We will provide close captioning and sign language for the event; please reach out to me if you need other assistance. Reach out to oite@nih.gov if you have any questions.
