Flagship Pioneering conceives, resources, and builds life-changing bioscience companies that create breakthroughs in health and sustainability. They also offer a summer Fellows Program, which will take place June 1, 2020 – August 21, 2020.

The MBA Fund Startup Pitch Day, April 17

The MBA Fund has announced its second annual Startup Pitch Day in partnership with the investors behind Lyft, DoorDash, AngelList and more. Last year companies received nearly $1 Million in prizes.

This prize is open to all alumni and current students across any department from The University of Pennsylvania.

Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, and submissions are due on March 27th: Learn more & apply here

Job Openings at JDRF International

JDRF, the top private funding organization of type 1 diabetes research worldwide, has two scientist positions based in their National Headquarters in downtown Manhattan:

Both positions are entry level scientist positions in their Beta Cell Therapies area, one focused on diabetes and cell therapy and the other focused on beta cell regeneration and drug development. Postdoc experience is preferred, but new PhD graduates should definitely apply and will be extremely competitive.

ASCB Biotech Courses

ASCB is offering two week-long courses this summer for PhD students, graduate students, and postdocs in health, science, and medical programs who wish to explore opportunities to implement their expertise in a biomedical business career. Of 230 attendees in 2014-2018, 66% now have jobs in industry, regulatory affairs, or tech transfer; the remainder are still in training or in academia. The course fee is $875 and scholarships from $200-$400 are available, thanks to support from Biogen. The East Coast course, in partnership with Manning School of Business at University of Massachusetts Lowell, is May 31-June 6. The West Coast course, in partnership with Keck Graduate Institute in Claremont, CA, is July 12-18. Each course can accommodate up to 50 graduate students and postdocs (international and domestic).

The deadline to apply is March 31. The application stipulates that applicants must become an ASCB member once they are accepted. Click here for more information and to apply.
