The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) is seeking a Scientific Communications Specialist
Due to continued growth of our program, we are searching for a new Specialist, Scientific Communications to provide impeccable scientific and technical communications support for manuscripts and publications, GTP Director needs, communications workshops, abstracts and conference presentations, varied written and illustrated content across the ~300 person Gene Therapy Program and Orphan Disease Center, and specific administrative needs.
As a Specialist, Scientific Communications, you will work in a Communications Team to provide outstanding technical, editorial, and creative design support across a dynamic organization. You will work closely with senior leaders at the GTP/ODC, including Research Directors, in order to develop professional content ready for publication and distribution.

Postdoctoral Associate, Pharmacology and Cancer Biology Job Description
Postdoctoral position is available to study the role of protein tyrosine kinases and transcription factor networks in tumor –neural cell interactions, with emphasis on crosstalk between brain metastases and neural cells in the brain tumor microenvironment. Candidates who are highly motivated and share a vision of excellence and commitment to research with a recent Ph.D. in tumor biology, neuro-oncology, neurobiology, and/or developmental biology using mouse models are preferred. General Assignment Summary (Longer Term Contract Position)
For specific projects:
General Work activities
- Help develop cell and gene therapy (CGT) processes by performing critical review of methods for plasmids and other CGT raw materials
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise and technical management to manage completion of raw materials analytical methods and specifications activities for CAR-T and gene therapy products.
- Design and create plasmid stability protocols, characterization protocols, reports, and other technical documentation like abstracts and memos
- Assist in regulatory filings by reviewing documents and adding content as needed for raw material and plasmid method descriptions
- Manage the approval workflows of technical documents in the document management system
- Analyze data generated by contract research organizations (CROs) and summarize in documents as required
- Learn the concepts of new techniques in order to assist in method development and validations at CROs
- Manage sample submissions to CROs
- Request quotes from CRO project managers (PMs) and submit for purchase orders (POs) internally
- Ensure lab personnel aliquots and ships samples
Candidate Skills
- Knowledge in CGT sector
- Very organized, attention to detail
- Be able to independently manage multiple projects and responsibilities at one time
- Keep detailed notes on status of projects
- Update various spreadsheets recording sample submissions, testing, documentation
- Attend meetings and take notes as needed
- Present data as needed
Additional Considerations
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing platforms a plus
- Plasmid experience a plus

This role is for a PhD-scientist with several years of experience and can handle leadership of several projects and provide intellectual input on strategy and potential new programs. We are looking for someone who has a deep knowledge of the field of hematology oncology, demonstrated by a good publication record, and who can be a great mentor and team leader with the ability to manage and support professional development of a team of scientists.
