Interested in consulting but unsure where to start? Join us for our “Women in Consulting panel” at 2:00 pm on March 31 (Friday)
At this panel, Penn alumni that are currently working in management consulting will share their experience as women in their business field. They will also share some general advice on how to transition from graduate school to consulting. This is a terrific opportunity open to all graduate students and postdocs (both men and women) from all programs at Penn.

- Sonia Passer, PhD, is a Project Leader in BCG’s Philadelphia office. Prior to BCG Sonia got her PhD at Penn in the Pharmacology Graduate Group, where she studied genome-wide transcriptional regulation of adipocytes in Mitch Lazar’s lab. Since joining BCG she has worked primarily in healthcare, helping pharma clients in a number of areas including strategy and commercial. Sonia also acts as BCG’s Recruiting Director for all Penn Advanced Degree Candidates (PhDs, MDs, JDs) for the Spring/Summer 2017 application cycle.
- Bernadette Bourjolly, PhD, is a consultant with ZS Associates and a member of ZS’ Value and Access practice. Bernadette mainly focuses on supporting oncology clients, and her experience at ZS included helping companies assess product opportunities, develop early commercialization strategies or evaluate local and global market access and pricing models. Bernadette obtained a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the Université Paul Sabatier (France) and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania
- Helen Chen, PhD, is a University of Pennsylvania alum in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics before joining Deloitte Consulting in Fall 2016. During her graduate career, Helen investigated how insulin controls hepatic albumin production using a wide range of genetic and biochemical tools. She is looking forward to leveraging her scientific background and skills she acquired during graduate school to pursue consulting opportunities in Health Care and Life Sciences industry.
- Jerri Wang, PhD, is a PBG alumni and currently Associate at McKinsey. She obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Penn; during this time, she was extensively involved in consulting clubs at Penn, including serving as VP of Consulting at PBG. Her work at McKinsey has primarily focused on the pharma industry
