In lieu of the CVI Seminar Series this Spring, the Penn Cardiovascular Institute will host a Core Workshop Series. This will be a 3 part series in which the Metabolomics Core, iPSC Core, and Mouse Cardiac Phenotyping Core will each present to you their core offerings and examples of how they can provide service to you. THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK SYMPOSIUM

The Penn Center for Research on Coronavirus and Other Emerging Pathogens will be hosting its first symposium, titled “The Coronavirus Outbreak” on Friday, April 3 from 11am to 5pm. The symposium will feature insights on coronaviruses from Penn experts. A detailed agenda of the symposium can be found here.

The Art of Grant Writing: 03/31 @ Noon!

The Institute of Regenerative Medicine is hosting a special “Socially Distanced Seminar (SDS)” on Tuesday, March 31 at noon featuring Leslie King, Ph.D., the Scientific Director for Grant Development for the Penn School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. King is an accomplished grant writer who will be walking us through some strategies for putting together appealing applications. This should be a very relevant talk for the many of us at home working on grants right now, especially trainees!

Postdoc Opportunity – Treisman Lab, Crick Institute

The Treisman Lab is seeking a highly motivated, bright and creative, and skilled postdoc with experience in gene regulation, signalling and biochemistry. The project will investigate how transcriptional activation by the MRTF transcriptional coactivators is controlled by their interaction with G-actin in different settings.

The lab usually comprises 2-3 postdoctoral research fellows and 2-3 graduate students, supported by 3 postdoctoral level research assistants.
