Penn BioConnect: May 5th 2020

Please mark your calendars for the inaugural Penn BioConnect Symposium, scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2020, from 11am to 5pm, in the Smilow Center for Translational Research.

This first-of-its-kind symposium is designed to connect Penn trainees with BioTech companies here in Philadelphia and to provide opportunities for increased integration and alignment between Penn’s training programs and industry needs.  Faculty keynote by Dan Rader, MD, and faculty-led discussions by Jon Epstein, MD, Emma Meagher, MD, Garret FitzGerald, MD, FRS, and Saar Gill, MD, PhD.  Invited guests include leadership from BioTechs in our region.

SACNAS Outreach Opportunity – Pi Day at Franklin Institute

Join Penn’s SACNAS chapter in celebrating Pi Day at the Franklin Institute on Saturday, March 14 from 10am-2pm!

Pi, the irrational number 3.14159265359…etc., better known as its symbol π, is defined as the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. On Pi day, we will be running an interactive, hands-on booth using PIE fractions to engage the public with everyday math problems in the Franklin Institute. The event runs from 9:45am-2pm, but volunteers are welcome to sign-up in shifts. Volunteers also get free admission to the museum!

PSPDG Navigating the Legislature: How does Congress work?

The process of legislature is complex and confusing, especially when the levels of government work differently. This event will demystify the legislative process in the Federal, State, and local levels of government. An understanding of the inner workings of legislature enables us to answer key questions. Who has the power? How do I reach the people necessary to affect change?

PSPDG What is Science Diplomacy?
